End users can modify many of the text fields in charts and reports. Don’t forget to save the chart or report after you make the modification. The change will modify the chart or report.
Can DecisionEdge create custom charts and reports for specific needs?
Yes, DecisionEdge consultants are available to work with your organization to design and deliver the interactive graphics and reports you need. We can modify an existing report in our library or build you a brand new one. Send us your example today and we will send you an estimate.
What is the difference between DecisionEdge for Microsoft Office Project, DecisionEdge Portal and the DecisionEdge Designer?
- DecisionEdge for Microsoft Office Project is a chart and report viewer embedded in Microsoft Office Project. The embedded product will allow you to see up to 50 projects at onetime because Microsoft limits the number of projects a user can open.
- DecisionEdge Portal is an online chart and report viewer that uses Microsoft Sharepoint Services (MOSS) or Project Web Access (PWA). This tool uses the DecisionEdge Warehouse that aggregates an unlimited number of project and project data for a portfolio view.
- DecisionEdge Designer is a developer’s toolkit that can be used to create entirely new charts and reports that can be shared with other DecisionEdge users. The typical user is an IT person or consultant who is familiar with database structures and basic programming concepts (SQL and VB Script). Designer is only necessary when there is a need for custom charts and reports.
If I buy DecisionEdge Designer, do I also need a copy of DecisionEdge for Microsoft Office Project?
No, you can view charts and reports within DecisionEdge Designer, but it will only be for development purposes. You will not see your company’s data. When you complete the report and send it to your DecisionEdge user, they will be able to view the new report within DecisionEdge for Microsoft Office Project or DecisionEdge WebPortal.
Do I need the DecisionEdge Designer to modify existing charts and reports?
Not necessarily. DecisionEdge for Microsoft Office Project users can modify some of the items on the report. We often times say they can change the ‘look and feel’ of the report. For instance, you can change the colors of a line, add your company logo, or change the name of the report to name a few.
The DecisionEdge Designer is a developer’s toolkit that gives users the ability to create brand new reports or modify current reports by adding a custom text field or adding a filter.
How do I download the latest DecisionEdge software?
